What does a postpartum doula do?
We always say a postpartum doula is like your mom or your sister..we come in and fill in the gaps. Need someone to hold the baby so you can take a shower? We've got you covered. We often do a little bit of laundry, a little bit of kitchen clean up; sometimes we will help you with the cooking or errands, but most often we help you with your baby. We are there to answer the question, am I doing this OK? and help you ease your transition into motherhood. A doula helps to take the pressure off and help you to get to know your baby.
Did you know we have night doulas, too?
Our night doulas come for an 8 hour shift, 10-6AM, or 11-7AM. Our doulas will take care of baby's needs, so that you can get some sleep. We will take care of diapering and walking the floors, and generally being awake when the baby is awake, so that you can rest easy.
